The historic refugee settlement on Alexandra Avenue

Athens anaplasis | SEPTEMBER 2018

Athens Anaplasis S.A. is planning,

coordinating, and managing the restoration, redevelopment, and rehabilitation of the eight building Blocks of the settlement, representative examples of social housing of the modernist movement.

Located in a key part

of the city, they also relate to the historical memory of the violent deportation of the Greek refugees of East Turkey that settled in Athens.

The restored apartments

will be available for social housing, and one of the building blocks will house a Memorial Museum devoted to the noteworthy story of these people.

Minimum acceptable modifications

demanded by the change of their function will be carried out, based on respect for original design and
character.
